Stephanie's art draws from a diverse array of artistic influences. From her aunt who recreates masterpieces, to her previous art teachers and to the Master Artists such as Edward Hopper, Paul Cezanne and Claude Monet. Like these classical artists, Stephanie enjoys highlighting the beauty of simple, often ignored ordinary moments in time, while infusing them with her own enhanced styles and color choices. Like a custom filter, she infuses her own bolder tastes taking inspiration from contrasting colors and patterns, often used in comic books, animation, and illustrations.

While Stephanie has experimented with mediums such as acrylics, pastels, watercolor, and oils, gouache and art markers are her preferred mediums. The gouache medium allows her to build up layers of paint to convey depth and a sense of timelessness. Stephanie’s use of art markers allows her to achieve results like that of watercolor and the vibrancy of illustration.

Through her works such as shown in “Approaching Trolley” and “Floating”, Stephanie deliberately amplifies both color and shading in her work to elicit anywhere between a whimsical, joyful and or a dramatic response. Using bold highlights and shadows, Stephanie's technique brings alive scenes that can appear real and surreal simultaneously.

Stephanie wishes that people feel inspired and provoke thoughts when experiencing her work. She hopes to bring experiences to viewers – even though they’re only for a few moments!

Stephanie attended Syracuse University and earned a B.S. degree in Accounting. After six years working in Public Accounting at a major Accounting firm, she decided to pursue her passion for art.

Stephanie Han was born in 1987 and has lived primarily in the state of New York. She currently resides in the Bay Area, California with her husband, energetic toddler, and their beloved dog.
